Puerto Rican Day Parade king Marc Anthony and knockout wife Jennifer Lopez shared a less than regal ride Sunday up Fifth Ave. - a cramped golf cart.
The substitute wheels were expertly handled by avid golfer Anthony, still sporting his parade sash, after the dynamic duo's cream-colored Chevy convertible's battery died near W. 69th St.
Anthony and a stunning J.Lo slipped smoothly into their substitute chariot, with the pair blowing kisses at frenzied revelers draped in the red, white and blue of Puerto Rico's flag.
Despite the golfing glitch, Anthony - a last-minute replacement for the prestigious honor - said the day was "fantastic" for the Puerto Rican power couple.
"It's such a big part of my life, and it always has been," said Anthony, the New York-born son of Puerto Rican immigrants, who sported a dark, pinstriped suit and dark sunglasses.
J.Lo glowed in a formfitting, strapless white dress that provided a peekaboo look at her black undergarment.
"My heart dropped when I saw Marc Anthony," swooned spectator Lena Rivera, 48, of Spanish Harlem.
Anthony was the "international godfather" of the 53rd annual parade, replacing telenovela star Osvaldo Rios. An uproar over Rios' conviction for beating up his girlfriend forced him to step down.
The parade was the first major march subject to new police rules that limit the events to five hours and shorten the routes by up to 25%.
While seven blocks were trimmed from the usual route, the parade was still long on passion and Puerto Rican pride.
Music blared, people cheered and danced - and nobody even seemed to notice. "A parade is a parade. It doesn't really matter to us how long it is," said Angelica Baez, 19, of the Bronx, who seized a prime sidewalk spot at 7 a.m.
A Hot 97 float packed with hip-hop stars, including Sean (Diddy) Combs and Busta Rhymes, also energized the crowds. Combs stumbled onto all fours at one point while waving a giant Puerto Rican flag. But he got right back up - and aides grabbed fistfuls of the rap mogul's clothes to keep him from falling again.
Celebrants still danced in the streets after the heavens opened about 3 p.m.
The NYPD reported 107 parade-related arrests, including two felonies. Among those arrested were a number of Latin Kings who tried to march, police sources said.
