Yes, those are still free and Ok to use? I would like to get some files and start uploading them to this site. I know a couple of other freestyle sites that do this as well and they are widely accepted in the freestyle community. I want to this for up and coming artists as well.

Just a quick note - we need permission to host mp3 music files. Otherwise, it's not legal...

We need to contact the record companies - but I don't think they'd give us permission to host the songs. That would be against their best interests because they'd make less sales (being the songs were available here for free).

How about mixes? They're used for "promotional purposes and the dj's talent". I have a freestyle mix i can give you now.

I'm not sure about those but I must say - I take a "better safe than sorry" approach to things I'm not sure about. There are people out there who'd love to see this site shut down...

Re: Why is it called "New York" Freestyle?

Mix's should be ok as long as you put a disclaimer "For Promo Use Only"

That should cover you.

[QUOTE=Sal Collaziano]When I moved down here almost two years ago, in West Palm Beach..................
There's not much going on down here regarding Freestyle.. Miami is a couple of hours away - and that's the only place I hear about any Freestyle..

Hey, we are almost neighbors, I reside in SW Florida. You are right, not much going here but not up until recently. Here in Ft. Myers on Saturday Nights they dedicate 3 hours to freestyle on 103.7 and on 105.5 the Beat which is a "HUGE" r&b station, they dedicate from 12pm - 1pm to oldschool.....now of course they play your "nucleus," and other oldschool acts but the majority is oldschool freestyle. Also, looks like there is a resurgence of freestyle shows and acts. It seems that for the past 2 months every weekend there is something going on in Miami from Stevie B playing to Rudy Gil, to Lissette M to Cynthia having a show......so it seems that its picking up a bit
